Blog Reflection

What I want  people to know about my topic is that there is hope for people with breast cancer. There are programs like Pink Ribbon or NBCM that help victims of breast cancer. There are ways to prevent breast cancer like eaten healthy, exercise, maintain good weight, and visiting a doctor. To start programs in schools to raise money to donate it to a clinic that help women with breast cancer. If we all spread awareness about it, we can defeat breast cancer together.

Blog Entry for 4-11-11

So far I learn from my topic is the stages of breast cancer. The TNM classification for breast cancer is based on the size of the tumor, whether or not  the tumor as spread to the lymph nodes in the armpits, and whether the tumor has spread to a more distant part of the body. The main stages are:
  • Stage 0 is a pre-cancerous or marker condition, either ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) or lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS)
  • Stages 1-3 are defined as 'early' cancer with good prognosis
  • Stage 4 is defined as 'advanced' and or 'metastatic' cancer with poor progonosis

Blog posting for April 5, 2011

My topic is about Breast Cancer. I choosed this topic because in school we are talking about it and we are having programs to raise money to donate it to a clinic which helps woman whith breast cancer that don't have money for an analysis or treatment. I also choosed it because it is a major issue in the world today. Many women in the U.S.A and in the world are dying of breast cancer and it is time for someone to talk about it and spread this issue so we can solve this problem together. We can also help the Pink Ribbon programs.
Mammary ductal carcinoma is the most common type of breast cancer in women. It comes in two different forms.
Noninvasive breast cancer. In the sintu breast cancer refers to cancer in which the cells have remained within their place of origin- they haven't spread to breast tissue around the duct or lobule.
Invasive breast cancer. Invasive ( infiltrating ) breast cancers spread outsive the membrane that lines a duct or lobule, invading the surrounding tissues.
